Latest Recall Notice

Greetings I'm new here and glad to be part of your group. I just received a recall notice in the mail for my 2021 GR Supra. They claim you could suddenly lose your braking assistance if you don't let them work on your car. They say it will take over 3 hours in the shop. Personally I had planned to change my own oil and never let the dealership get their hands on my car. I am assuming this will wipeout all my Bimmer Code hacks and possibly mess with the car's performance all around. Anyone had this done yet and did it effect any of your Bimmer Code hacks or mess with your custom tuning?

I had it done along with the free oil & filter change and a few other nits I had and I had to do was reset the clock. Everything else is free for two years. Great dealership with free sodas and sandwiches and it all took only 4 hours.

Do you know what they had to do or replace? Did you have any Bimmercode hacks? I spent a whole afternoon doing my Bimmercode hacks and I don't want to lose them. Do you know if the recall effects a certain VIN number range?

Haven't seen the recall, was just told about it at dealership and went back next week for the one year service and they did it along with other stuff. I asked them to reflash my system as sometimes the rpm would not come up after sitting at light, fixed that. they did ask me if I had any codes put in. I did not. What codes are you talking about?

I did a bunch of hacks with Bimmercode which allows you to brighten the center display for daytime driving, turn off the nagging seat belt beeper and a whole lot of custom tweaks that make the car more pleasurable to drive. You do it with a plug into your computer port under the dash and make all the changes with an app on your phone.

* Yes I wear seat belts but I live on a 1/2 mile private drive and when I get my mail out at the end of the drive it seems senseless to put my belt back on to drive 10mph for a half mile.

These are just a few videos. One of the most useful hacks was getting that middle display brightened up so I can see it in the daytime. But I applied a whole list of other useful features like turning off the seat belt nag and making the car start up in sport mode. It sounds daunting at first but once you get going it's easy.
