2020 Supra ECU upgrade!

Glad to be a part of this group!!! Looking for some knowledge! Hey! Hoping someone can answer this question for me. Just got a 2020 Supra with a 6/19 production date. Bought an MHD tune but it says my ECU needs to be unlocked. I do not want to take the ECU out and send it off. Do I have any other options?? Thanks!!

Supposedly, the ECU on the 2020s can be unlocked and tuned. The ECU doesn't need to be removed and sent anywhere. Tuning companies provide a device that plugs into the OBD port in the driver's footwell. Depending on the company, the ECU can be tuned to a specified amount or can be tuned to an owner's preference. In 2021 Toyota locked the Supra's ECU so that it can't be unlocked and tuned. I'm sure that a smart programmer will be able to hack into the ECU code but the result may actually brick the ECU so that it will no longer function; in which case, the owner would have to buy a replacement ECU for big bucks.
